About Chef Alice
Originally from sunny Los Angeles, Chef Alice has trekked across the country to pursue her passion of cooking. Her journey of becoming a Certified Natural Chef was neither predictable nor straightforward.
For 10 years, Alice has been a lacto-ovo vegetarian until she discovered the unparalleled benefits of a vegan diet (no animal products such as meat, dairy, or egg). Ethically, a vegan diet prevents animal sufferings of any kind. Nutritionally, a healthy vegan diet contains less fat, less toxins, less refined sugar, and no cholesterol compared to a traditional diet. Environmentally, eating one less burger meant saving 12 pounds of grain, 55 sq. ft. of rainforest and 2,500 galloons of water, all of which are vital resources of our eco-system. Becoming a vegan was the best decision Alice has ever made because it changed her life.
"So what to eat now?" was Alice's first question as a new vegan. Discontent with the options in restaurants, Alice started to cook her own meals. With a curious mind and a hungry stomach, Alice went from cooking for herself to hosting vegan dinner parties. Not before long did Alice realize that cooking and sharing vegan food was her passion. With no hesitation, Alice moved to the east coast, where she attended the Natural Kitchen Cooking School in NYC and received her certification as a Natural Chef. Her training included gourmet and comfort vegan food, macrobiotics, seasonal cooking, food remedies, special diets, and healthy cooking techniques.
Now living in Amherst, Massachusetts, Alice can't wait to share her passion and knowledge of vegan cooking to anyone who wants to eat healthier, has no time or desire to cook but wants to eat wholesome meals, needs a special diet, or is simply curious about vegan food.
